About

Our Mission: MetroCARE  improves access to medical care for uninsured patients through volunteerism among health care providers.

MetroCARE is a community partnership to improve access to medical care for low-income, uninsured residents of Jackson, Clay and Platte counties. MetroCARE combines care provided by volunteer primary care physicians and safety net clinics with donated specialty care in a coordinated program. More than 800 physicians participate, equating to about 1 in 4 of Missouri-based doctors in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

A partnership of Northland Health Care Access and the Metropolitan Medical Society of Greater Kansas City (Metro Med), the program is operated with the support of local grants. Offices located in the Northland, midtown and Eastern Jackson County connect patients with medical care they would not otherwise be able to access. Patients have received services ranging from basic preventive care to imaging and specialty care including MRI, X-rays, infusion treatments, cancer therapies, colonoscopies and outpatient surgery procedures.
